What happens if I run out of money during my divorce?
Posted by: | CommentsI am in the middle of a contested divorce in Ohio. My ex-wife’s attorney is dragging this out and costing me a lot of money in attorney fees.
Temporary orders have been approved, it’s down to a matter of her attorney wants my business to be a marital asset. Thus the contested matter. We have a second status conference in January.
I am near penniless and after my current retainer runs out, I will not have the money to retain my attorney.
What will happen to the divorce case? Does it go “on hold” or something?
How can I evict an abusive ex boyfriend out of my house that I own?
Posted by: | CommentsOne week ago, my ex boyfriend was hitting me as he has done for 8 years. He was trying to strangle me when I bit his arm. I got away and called the police. Well, they came and since my bruises had not shown up yet and he had a bite mark on his, I was arrested for domestic battery. I now have a no contact order from the judge. He is living in my home that I own myself. The house has been in my family for 50 years. I have no money and no job( he wouldn't let me work). I need to evict him legally. I can't just go throw him out because of the no contact order. I have tried to make him leave before. Once he threw me through the sliding glass doors. Another time he smashed a brick into my face leaving me permanently disfigured. I can no longer take this. I need him out before he destroys my family home. Also, all the utilities are in my name. Is it legal to have them turned off?
What I am looking for is a general agreement for the exchange of the money for the property (furniture) in the house so that he cannot just come take it after I've given him the money. Just if anyone needs to know we had been together for 14 years…if that makes a difference.
