Is it commom for guys to tell their girlfriend about their ex-girlfriends?

I had a boyfriend once who told me in some detail about all the problems with each of his ex-girlfriends. I asked so he told me all about it. I am no longer with him. I am just curious why he just went ahead and told me when he could have said that was private. Now he's probably going to tell his future dates or girlfriend about what was so wrong with me.

Even though they dated for a 1 1/2 year, and broke up a few weeks ago they decided to stay friends. I've been hanging out with him and we kissed blah blah and we seem to work pretty well, but his ex is always around. She was a insecure girlfriend, she doesn't like girls.
Some of my friends think it's odd.
What would you do?
Would it be bad if I asked my ex girlfriend’s good friend out?

I have been good friends with one of her good friends for about 2 months and im starting to like her a lot. She really wants a boyfriend. Am I moving on too fast even though my ex and I only dated for two months? We both still wanna be friends. Would it be bad if I asked one of her good friends out?
What was the worst way someone has broken up with you?
Posted by: | CommentsYeah, a pretty harsh question, but I'm just wondering if any of you had ever gone through out of the norm break-up moments. For instance, my last girlfriend put a message on my answering machine saying that we were through. All of my roomates heard it with me, and I was shocked as hell. I never thought that would've happened. Anybody else have a bad break-up?
