What would you do if the ex-girlfriend of the boy you have a crush on still hung around…a lot?

Even though they dated for a 1 1/2 year, and broke up a few weeks ago they decided to stay friends. I've been hanging out with him and we kissed blah blah and we seem to work pretty well, but his ex is always around. She was a insecure girlfriend, she doesn't like girls.
Some of my friends think it's odd.
What would you do?

You need to make her think nobody is going to take her ex. At the moment it sounds like she's being really over protective so that he remains single and she has a chance. Pretend that you're not interested - you're not competition or a "potential ex thief" haha. That way she'll relax a bit, thinking she won't need to keep such a close eye and tag along every minute of the day. Theoretically this would just leave you, and your crush, alone.
You can do this by… not being "as nice as you usually would to a guy you like". Be mean, show you look down on him. Also talk about how you like OTHER boys instead. This will not only make ex girlie think she's in the clear, but probably make your crush jealous and arise to the challange of winning you over.
