Have you ever broken up with someone even though you both didn’t want to break up?

I have wanted to stay with my ex but deep down we both knew there were too many issues for it to ever work out. We both wanted to still be with each other, however we knew it was not going anywhere. My family did not like him & his family did not like me. We had issues with trust also. Our only options were to stay together & have times of enjoyment but also lots of times of fighting & frustration & there was no hope that we would ever get married. Or just break up & move on. It has been 2 years since we broke up & I still miss him & think about him, but I know it would have never worked out. It was a hard decision to make, but I know it was the right one.
